Sheena Rice is a multifaceted artist, blending her talents as a singer-songwriter, American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter, and photographer. Born into a household with Deaf parents, she is a proud user of American Sign Language (ASL) as her first language and identifies as a Child of Deaf Adults (CODA). Sheena holds an Associates degree in Sign Language Interpretation, a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, and has earned the National Interpreter Certification (NIC) from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID). She is currently enhancing her musical talents through a 9-month mastermind songwriting program, focused on refining her skills and artistic expression. Her innovative approach to songwriting embraces ASL as a powerful medium of expression, breaking down barriers and fostering inclusivity within the music industry. Her overall upbringing ignited a lifelong passion for musical expression, leading her to immerse herself in the art of singing and songwriting from a young age. With an innate talent for playing by ear. Sheena excels in singing, songwriting, and playing various instruments, including the guitar, piano, and ukulele. She is also diving into the world of music production and recording. As a dedicated and creative individual, Sheena aims to transition to a full-time career in music. Beyond her professional pursuits, Sheena embraces her identity as a queer woman and proud dog mom. She enjoys listening to music, attending concerts, being outdoors, playing basketball, practicing yoga, and living a vegetarian lifestyle. Sheena’s journey is driven by her love for music, her family and friends, the Deaf community and her commitment to making a meaningful impact through her art.
